It depends on your needs, and items of importance.
Some have longer warranties than others. Some have Aluminum kettles, while others have nickel plated steel. Some have all glass, while others use a type of plastic. Some offer heated trays (recommended by almost everyone), and some smaller 4 oz. units dont.
For me, when I finally get one, it will be a Cretors Nite Club. Why, because I think it will look the best for my style of home theater. It offers tinted and etched glass, a nickel plated steel kettle, and a heated tray. Although, I think the warranty is shorter. But for me it is looks.
If you go with any of the big boys like Cretors, Gold Medal, Paragon, Star Manufacturing, I dont think you will go wrong. Just find the price point, look and features that you like.
For now, I am using an 8 qt. Stir Crazy with 6 oz prepacks, and it works fantastic. And it was only around $40. Still make popcorn like the theater, and my wife loves it.
