Hi,

which projector is the best for high-def gaming with Xbox 360?

I'll use 90% HD gaming and 10% for bluray.

Panasonic PT-AE4000 in mode3 (frame interpolation) should be ok to play without any sort of motion blur?

From what I'm told the AE4000 isn't very good for gaming. Too much processing which makes the input lag very noticeable, and turning on frame interpolation makes things even worse.

What you want for gaming is a single chip DLP projector. At around the $2000 price range the Benq w6000 is as good as it gets.

I can't buy a DLP, i'm having some positioning issue. I need much vertical shift and 2x zoom at least.

Actually I have a Sanyo Z2000, and I don't notice any lag.

AE4000 has much more lag?

I did some more searching and I found SIK did actual response time testing:

If the settings on the AE4000 are just right then it looks like it handles games well.

And it also looks like you may want to try the VGA connection instead of the HDMI.

For gaming, I would turn off ALL processing. Gaming systems are pretty good at keeping things judder-free anyway as you don't game with a 24p source.

I game with an Epson 6500UB and it works great. My buddy has the Panasonic you're looking at and it is fine as well.

Why?

if you keep looking through the thread I posted above, you'll see that some are having issues with input lag through HDMI but not VGA.

I game alot on my Sony VW60 and I love it... despite burning through lamps constantly!

I'm thinking of getting a projector with cheaper lamps for gaming to save money. So far I've been looking at the acer 5360.

Is there any advantage in using a 120Hz projector like the acer vs a typical 60HZ when it comes to gaming? Would motion be more fluid for say racing games?

H5360 is only 120Hz if you set it to 120Hz. You can use 1280 x 720 60Hz or 1280 x 720 120 Hz, your choice.

Are there any other projectors out there that can accept 120Hz over vga or hdmi from a pc?

I saw on the youtube video he had "Acer H5360 @120hz refresh rate and fixed 120 fps"

120hz at 120 fps would be great for flight sims and racing games on a projector.
