What is the best projector for HDTV?

The Sony HS20 is the best in this price range according to www.projectorcentral.com. This seems strange to me as the 720p projectors do not have to scale 720p programs. The Z2 and 500u are also less expensive.


There are better projectors for HDTV, but are more expensive.


If you must have DLP an Ht-1000 with a panamorph lens is probably a good deal in this price range.

The Best? That's a loaded question. Like asking which is the best speakers or car.


Some more parameters would be nice:


- price range

- room

- screen size


I wouldn't normally be so harsh on a newbie but you do have over 200 posts

Start with looking at projectors that can natively display one of the common HDTV resolutions: 1280x720 or 1920x1080. Each technology has its pro's and con's, its trade-off's, and its pricing scheme.


Without knowing what your viewing environment entales, your budget, etc. its next to near impossible to answer that question of yours.

There is only one 1920 by 1080 projector and it's $20,000

And considering which chatroom the author posted in he will probably focus on 720P products if he takes my advice.
