Don't say Harmony 890 Pro, already threw it in the garbage, so bad I would not even try to to sell it.

I need one that will do both because I have 2 identical DVD players, the Pioneer 05FD, I use one for DVDs and one for CDs. When I turn one on they both come on so I need a remote that will allow me to operate these 2 independently.

I would also like the new remote to turn on my projector ( Mits HC3000 ), my Pioneer 805 AVR, and Dish 722VIP HD DVR on at the same time.

When I get ready to listen to a DVD I would like it turn on the AVR, the DVD player, and projector. When I get ready to listen to a CD I would like for it to turn on the other DVD player and receiver only.

Now the 890Pro would do all of the above except it would not operate the identical DVD players seperately and yes even with the accessory, RF emitter which I paid an extra $100 for.

Every time I would try to program the the RF emitter it would say, "cannot connect to rf emitter". I have spent and ungodly amount of time reading so I am not looking for an answer on how to fix the 890Pro because I don't think it can be.

I have read several articles claiming Logitech had a recall on the 890's for this and many other problems. The 890 is just a piece of crap and I would just like something different, preferably a different company as well, their CS stinks too. Thank you for your help guys, I look forward to your replies.

Sounds like you need to hit ebay and get yourself a MX-450 and a base station....either the MRF-260 (has 2 addressable IR ports for your DVD players) if you need more addressable then the mrf-350 would do the job

The MRF-260 has four addressable ports plus a blaster. It has two fixed and two variable ports which allows you to adjust the IR output. I assume that is where you got the "2" from.

However, I couldn't imagine the OP getting a MX-450 programmed correctly if he had so much trouble with a Harmony.

Thanks guys for all the replies and help.

Guess what, I found another 890 Pro and tried to pair it to the rf extender and guess what, it connected on the first try while the other 890 Pro would not connect. Don't know why the other one would not connect, I just everything just exactly as I did with the second one that did connect. Maybe just a defective remote? If I could figure out how to reset everything to factory default settings in the non working remote I be it would pair up with the extender too. If anyone has any ideas on how to get the 890 Pro back to factory default settings and delete rf extenders which are already downloaded into the 890 Pro I would appreciate your advice. This way I could get the second 890 Pro working for my son's room.

Trust me when I say I have tried everything to get that one defective ? remote to pair with the rf extender, I spent 3 days sold on it. Plus how could I get the second one to pair perfectly the first time if I were doing something wrong with the first 890 Pro, really has me puzzled, to say the least. Thanks again guys for all your help and I look forward to your advice on the second remote which I can not get to pair with the rf extender. Have a great day.
