Currently I'm thinking about getting the Sony KV-36XBR800 or 40XBR800 but I am curious what the best usable resolution more common resolution (with a normal aspect ratio) i could expect to get with this tv.

As I understand it one can use the service menu settings for convergence to reduce or possible avoid overscan. I plan on playing dvds and running cable through the pc with dscaler.

Are there any other potential tvs that might work better for this use?

Thanks in advance,

Ian.

Safaa, what video card are you using with the transcoder and the Sony? Could you post your powerstrip timings here please? I have the 36XBR800 and think this might help me. Thanks.
