I'm replacing two systems that need RF to IR functionality.

I've had UNIVERSAL REMOTE's "MX-350" on both system for 10 years.

I just need to control a receiver, Dish box and Bluray player housed in another room (times 2).

Should I upgrade with Universal? What other good brands are there?

I've tried the Harmony remotes a couple time and hate them, so they're out.

thanks

Is an infrared repeater system an option? You can extend them to other rooms with CAT5/6 cabling and it should allow you to continue using your existing remotes.

What RF to IR base station are you using with the MX-350 or are you replacing the entire setup?

One option for multi-room control is with a smartphone/tablet app and a Global Cache iTach IP2IR (Ethernet or WiFi connected). This replaces RF with WiFi to send IP commands. Some devices can be directly controlled with IP so you could skip IR, usually those that are network connected such as your AVR or Blu-ray player.
