Hello guy's,

what's the best soundcard for a HTPC ??

Not looking at the price of course ... just the best you can get ?

I was thinking of getting an RME or a M-Audio soundcard but I'm not quite sure this is the ultimate choice ...

Thanks Fozzy

If you are using your HTPC for stictly HT and not games, the M-Audio Audiohile 24/96 is the mest in my opinion. I have one and am quite impressed with it.

Even better is the M-audio 1010 as it will output 8 channels of decoded 24/96 information. WinDVD has a program which will allow this card to decode DD 5.1 and DTS, and it does a great job with CD's and 24/96 DVD Video music discs. Only problem is that it won't give you volume control.

M-Audio is ALSO SUPPOSED TO BE COMING OUT WITH AN INTERNAL 8 CHANNEL CARD IN THE NEAR FUTURE. wE'LL SEE. Bill
