If you want one of the best AVRs for the features you've mentioned, I would look at the next Onkyo up the ladder, the SR876... but a far better option might be a dedicated video processor (DVDO Edge, $500ish) and a lower-end AVR (Marantz SR4001, $250ish). This approach lets you focus the bulk of your budget on what you're trying to maximize, video processing quality, without overspending on audio capabilities and robust amplification.
