What is the best subwoofer under $300? This is for my bedroom system, currently lacking a sub unit, which has 4 Bose 201s and the Bose VCS-10 center channel speaker, Sherwood receiver, 31" Proscan monitor. I use it mostly for satellite and DVD movies, some music. Thanks!

Sears has the SAWM40 on sale for $129. I have this sub and it is the best for the money. It picks up 20hz frequency, which is better then any sub twice that price. Ask around, for that price you can't beat it.

Right on... I was going to add for under $300, you could get TWO SAWM40's which will beat most of the under $500 subs out there. Your next best bet would be to save up a couple of months and go SVS. :)

I was told by Sears that Sony is replacing the Sony SA-WM40 with a new model . Both Best Buy and Sears no longer have the Sony SA-WM40. Sears just sold out this sub a couple of days ago. Crutchfield has them on sale for $149 and Etronics for $139. You better hurry.

That audiosource also sounds like a sweet sub... MSRP on it is $400, so you really got a great deal there, funk. :) MSRP on the Sony is $250.

$129 - Sony SA-WM40 - 12" Subwoofer - 120 watts

~$150 - AudioSource SW-15 - 15" Subwoofer - 200 watts

Depending on the square footage of your bedroom, I think either of these will be great choices, Larus... Good luck and let us know what you decide. :)
