Best to pair the 805s

Hi guys,

Any suggestions on what audiophile HT receivers, sub, and cd player/sacd/dvdA player to pair with the 805s? My budget for these 3 components would be around $2500-3000. I was thinking on going with Rotel 1067 receiver, Velodyne SPL1200seriesII and Rotel 1072 player. What do you guys think? I'm planning to upgrade all my HT/HiFi equipment but for now I'll be just using the 2 fronts and a sub so I can get at least decent equipments for stereo audiophile quality listening and later can upgrade to a 5.1-7.1 system. Suggestions and critics are welcome. Thanks in advance

Sounds like a good plan to me. The 1067 is very good with everything, and it's also easy to use. The Velo is good with movies, but it's not perfect for music. Although it's a good compromise between the two. A REL would be the perfect choice for music, but they dont give as much pressure to movie effects. I would give a look for SVS and HSU offerings, if size is not a concern, I think these will beat the Velo in it's own game.

As for options to the 1067 I would look at Arcam AVR300 and maybe some separates from NAD, Rotel, Sherwood.

Edit: BTW are you sure you dont want a stereo amp now and maybe a av-pre-amp later with some extra power amps? The quality between stereo and multich gear on the same price class isn't just marginal.

Thank you for your detail explanations =)

Actually I've never tried to have a stereo Amp before.. and also I don't understand about combining the stereo amp with other components to create a ht system =( Do you think getting a stereo amp for now is better for me? Have any suggestions? like the model unit and stuff so I can go to find more info about them =) Thanks in advance tho... thanks for taking your time to explain all these stuff
