Ok, after being directed here by some friends, and being fed up with my crappy 19 inch TV, i'm looking to get something better. I'm putting my maxiumum price at 500 dollars, and am mostly looking for a good picture, for DVD playback. I rarely acually watch TV, so most features aren't important to me. I've done some research with the search button, but i didn't seem to find anything on the subject.

Thanks in advance guys :)

I was recently in the same type of predicament being tired of my 19 in , but unable to afford any large tv bc of a college studen budget. I was trying to decide whether I should get a 27 in flat screen or 32 in non flat. I ended up getting the 32 in Curtis Mathis from Kmart which is a re-bandaged Samsung. It doesn't have component input, only s-video, but it does have the anamorphic squeeze and that won me over. It was on sale last time for $389. It didn't look good out of the box, but after using Avia it looks great.

There are Panasonic,Sony,Toshiba and a few other brands that can give

you a good bang for your buck I am partial too Sony, I think you can't go

wrong with a Trinitron. But you might get a better value and all around
