Any thoughts on the best and safest way to sell a used pj? Any places that you know of that accept trade-ins, or am I stuck with e-bay and PayPal? Anyone know of the best ways to safeguard sales on e-bay (sure, I know you can do signed delivery, but it doesn't prevent someone from signing then saying they opened the box and it was filled with sawdust...).


This HS50 has me itching to upgrade from my Z2!

Seems it would be best for someone in your area to "just happen to notice" this thread and buy in person. This way, they can test it out while it's hooked up and know exactly what they are getting and minimize your liability from selling online and having to worry about shipping damage, etc.


I know a couple people looking to buy used units. Too bad we don't have a thread for that.

PS: Ebay is not as bad people make it out to be, just be sure to pack well and get confirmation at the delivery end. The old sawdust charge back is way overblown, you can also make sure they a verified paypal member and only ship to confirmed paypal addresses. Check the feedback of bidders also, it is within your right to block bidders and while it may cost you a few pennies it will save some headaches. Also spend sometime doing your auction *I use word and then save the HTML via webpage preview source view by cutting and pasting* Also inculde actual photos! not stock photos from the company website

I've never seen a seller accept anything other than full payment before shipping the item.


It's buyers who need to be careful.

What uther is refering to is the fact that there was a period where paypal would allow users to file grievances against sellers, which created a charge back against your account until you proved that you shipped the actual item. Many of these were scams and some sellers were left holding the bag. Paypal has since changed it's position a little, and is less likely to allow a buyer to nail a seller with a fraudulent claim.
