I am looking at two speakers under $1000, Ascend Sierra-1 and Philharmonitor. Are there better ones for less than $1000? If not how would these two fair against one another?

Everyone would like to know that. So why don't you buy both, test them out, give us your review, then send the loser back .

Are there better speakers under $1000. Oh, I'm sure there are, or at least speaker that one may like over these.

I would compare the Philharmonitor to the Sierra-2 rather than the Sierra-1 due to the ribbon tweeter. I only have experience with the Sierra-1(own a pair with the NrT tweeters). The Sierra-1 is a great speaker IMHO and is very competitive in the
