Hi. I am a first time projector buyer and i am wondering which is better in a technical sense. Which is a better projector. I am going to use it for watching tv 75% of the time and watching DVDs and other movies 25% of the rest of the time.

They are the exact same projector with different firmware, the 4800 has a couple extra cables.

You'd be crazy to by the 4800. Its $500 more and is the same exact projector.

Psychologically, go with the 4800. The extra $500 is worth knowing that the company has labelled it a "home theatre projector". I have a Runco sticker that I'll put on my X1 for you and sell you it for 5 grand -- good deal for a top-o-the-line Runco.
