This guy lifted an ad I had on Videogone for a 1271 with the pictures and text intact and is selling as new. He took another ad for a 9pg too. I think that one was one of Curt's ads. Item # 3049425467 seller [email protected]

No, the 9PG ad was taken VERBATIM from my videogon listing. I've contacted ebay and reported it as well as emailing the thief directly to dump the auction. Ebay has got to get better at stopping fraudulent listings or it will lose ALL credibility.

Yeah I saw that ad browsing eBay today. Upon viewing the item, I recognized the picture and the description.


I don't understand how could could ask for $6,700. He must have seen the projector sell for $850 when he stole the description/picture.

Paul, I also reported to ebay that he stole my Videogone ad and he has highjacked the account. . I sent the seller a email and told him I would report this fact to all his bidders. The one bid on the 1271 is me with one of my id's. I wanted to see if the seller would dig himself in deeper with a email suggesting I could buy it now for less if I wire the money immediately. That really makes me mad about the ad he stole from me because it makes my buyer wonder what he is actually getting for his money if he were to run across this on ebay. I am going to look into digitally signing my pics like some ebay sellers do. "COPYRIGHT 2003 DENNIS WALLACE" right over the face of the photo. I

What we have here is a failure to communicate. How about placing VISIBLE watermarks, like MATRIX AD ON VIDEOGON diagonally across the photos? I don't mean a solid color that would interfere with the picture to a gross point, but a visible watermark where the lettering lightens-up the picture.


And stop saying Videogone! It isn't 'gone' its 'gon'!

WanMan. Chill out. The purpose of placing a "for sale" ad in Videogon is to make that piece of video gear "gone", thus "video gone".

Everyone host their photos on a server you control, not ebay. Then if a crook steals your ad verbatim you change the photos to a skanky spread eagle slu_.....

I really don't care at this point .And if I want to call it VIDEOGONE than try to stop me. The bottom line is this. I had a projector for sale, it is now sold, it is now GONE not GON. By the way, where is Location: Lat: 34.0725288 Lon: -83.9337082 ? Hazard Kentucky? Where I come from we name our cities and not go by GPS coordinates.

I do believe that the field label said location, not City/State, nor were any constraints being enforced. Thus, my location on this planet was giving via GPS coordinates for this planet. And no, its not in the state of Kentucky.

I think that's near Atlanta, GA. If you sell a piece off audio gear on Audiogon, then that gear would be Audio Gone.
