I bought this model from Amazon, received it today and immediately tried the HDCP hack (works, wow), and then flashed the new firmware. I have HDMI, but I am using it for my HD Comcast box (DVI) so I was going to use component for this player. (I may swap these, not sure yet, any opinions on this will be welcome.)

The warning is this, as the firmware was being loaded I noticed that the old firmware was possibly newer than the one I had downloaded!

Obviously, its too late now, but the screen said something along the lines of:

Upgrading...

Old Firmware: 1XXXXXXX-XAC

New Firmware: 02XXXXXX-XAC

Notice it was not the XAA firmware.

I'll check the build date when I get back home, where do I find it?

It revs up but says "No Disc" on the white LCD display on the machine, yet on my screen it said old firmware=100405.xxx.xxx. and new firmware=020405.xxx.xxx.
Ok, well that makes me feel better...

Although it would be funny if we're all downgrading our firmware...
