My BG808's picture gets distorted after about 30 minutes. The problem starts at the top, and moves down to about half the image height in about 5 minutes. The shape seems to be always the same, and note that the picture is actually wrapping around right to left. Apologies for the bad pictures. The bright vertical stripe at the top is just an artefact in the pictures and not part of the problem.

The problem goes away for a short time if I turn the projector off for a few minutes, so it's probably some component heating up. The problem is less severe with lower frequencies, i.e. 480p hasn't shown it yet, but 768p or 720p do. All colors are affected in exactly the same way, i.e. the distorted part of the picture is properly converged. Which board could cause this, and what can I do to fix it?

Curt might be the best one to ask which component - I would think the H shift - but that is just a guess.

Plus he would be able to fix/replace it.

Or it could be the middle fan acting up :)

Yeah, I was worried someone else might be hitting Curt up for BG808 H boards. I think that is where my raster shift problem is.

The only thing I've learned since then is that the H board has a TON of heatsinking (and that I am not very good at reading schematics). Those MOSFETs must get HOT. Would the high heat do any permanent damage to them?

Glad to hear you nipped this one in the bud.
