A BG800 that I sold to a friend is doing something screwy. I posted earlier with the "video noise" question, but this screwy convergence seems to be more of a problem. From what he says, the sides of the image go out of whack. He says that they diverge at the same time and happen at 25% of both sides of projected image on screen. This happen initially after projector use (20-30 minutes) but now happens immediately upon use. This condition lasts for the entire time of use.


Should I look at the convergence board?

To me it sounds like a board might be loose - One of the "good" barco people - like Curt or Terry might be of additional help

Tell him to pull the convergence board out, then fire the set up. See if that eliminates the problem. Of course the set will be way out of convergence, but see if it consistently stays that way. I'd say it's a fault on that board, but it could also be a V board, H board or H shift board issue.
