I just found this forum and am new to CRT projectors, not completely novice but still have alot to learn.


My question is does anyone know of places where I can find used/refurbished CRT's for my BG808? I think they are made by Panasonic but not completely sure. I am looking specifically for the BLUE and GREEN since my Blue is in terrible shape and my Green is getting there, my seems to be perfectly fine.


I am looking forward to participating in this board as I learn more.

You can buy new/refurb CRT from VDC (800) 241-5005.


Good used ones are rare but can sometimes be found(If I don't find them first ).


I would recommend the CRT dealers/repair guys such as Curt and Terry (if I leave the rest of you guys out - it is because I am lazy and sucking up to Curt and Terry ).


They can easily be found on this forum. Just post some pictures of models and they show up real quick.....

Z is right. VDC is the easiest and their rebuilds are generally good, though folks do have problems from time to time. Also you have to remove and replace all the electronics on the tubes so depending on your fix-it experience that may be easy or not. I don't think you will have a whole lot of luck with the dealers as they are always looking for good tubes for the projectors they sell. If you get lucky you can find a whole other projector with decent tubes for less than two VDC rebuilds and of course you have all the other spares you might need. As an added bonus you will not have to remove and replace the electronics on the tube.
