Bi-wiring Bryston 4B ST?

515 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Don O’Brien
Is it possible to bi-wire (with spades) the 4B ST? I'd like to run 2 sets of Analysis Plus Oval 12s to each speaker. That means I'd have 2 spades attached to each post on the 4B ST.

Your described technique should not be necessary to bi-wire.

Example: you will end up with four bare wires/bundles per speaker run.

At the speaker end-remove the briding bar between the common terminals, crimp on 4 spades and attach to the speaker terminals, at the amp end- take both positive wires twist them together and crimp on a single spade, then do the same thing for negative wires. This will give you better contact at the amp end. One other suggestion, IMHO the bridge bar is the weak link in the signal chain. Use a larger guage wire in a single run to one pair of speaker terminals, remove the bridge bars and attach a high quality wire between the two sets of terminals on the speaker (neg to neg, positive to positive).
