Been slowly upgrading my HTIB over the last few years and ordered the final piece last week, a BIC F12 sub. I am hoping this will be a big improvement over my Sony 8 inch sub. It is going to come in tomorrow and I would like to get it set up quickly before I leave town. I can't find my Auddesy mic so I will need to run that later but would like to get it at least close so my kids can enjoy while I am traveling over the next few weeks. Below are the settings I can see on the back of the unit:

Power - I think I will leave this to "On" and experiment with auto when I return

Phase - 0 or 180...no idea what this should be set on

Volume - probably put this half way and call it good for now

Cross Over - I am thinking this doesn't matter because I have an SPDIF output on my receiver

SPDIF or ProLogic - I have a dedicated output on my receiver so I will set this to SPDIF

Does that all look good? What about the Phase, where should that be set? Does the number on the crossover dial matter or is that non functional when the toggle is set to SPDIF?

As far as gain I would also start a bit lower and creep it up depending on your AVR. Mine is set right now at around 10 o' clock and then is 7db hot on receiver.

What sub are you coming from? Before my BIC I had the Sony WM20, with all 8 inches and 50 watts. The thing was awful and typically couldn't play at any volume without some serious chuffing. I will warn you though, once you see how dramatic of an upgrade the BIC is over the Sony, you're going to want more! I'll be swapping out my BIC tomorrow for the SVS PC12-plus. This hobby is an illness!
