I have a HTiB I have began upgrading. All what I have now is a Polk cs2 center. I was hunting a good deal on some M60s, but the price is not what I want to pay right now. After that I was going to upgrade my receiver, then get a good sub. But I accidently came upon what I believe is too good of a deal to pass. It is a bic f12 for $180.

My receiver does not have the rca out (or whatever runs to the sub), but I found

If I hook up the f12, is it going to be using the subs amp, or the receivers amp?

By the way, this is for a 15x12 room, but would like to keep it when I move into a bigger room.

It will use the subs own amp. The receiver only sends the sub the pre-amp LFE signal.
