Just purchased a BIC V1220 as a replacement for my Velodyne SPL10. What intrigued me was the low end frequency responce. 23 HZ is real close to the SPL10. While I loved my Velodyne, the longevity of this brand sucks. After two amp blowouts, its now an expensive door stop.

Has anyone compared these two subs for performance?

Depending on your use intent - I'd advise canceling your order, and purchasing a more capable subwoofer.


That BIC V1220 isn't much of an upgrade from the velodyne you had and it sure isn't flat to 23hz.

The BIC V1220 represents a good value at $200, but a better value is found in the $300 sale priced Klipsch RW-12D if you want extension to 22 or 23hz.

For $300 the RW-12d is pretty hard to beat for HT.
