black crush ATI - mce05

Hi, I was playing around last night with my media center, and I think BTB is getting clipped off.

The THX Brightnes screen where they have the THX logo and the drop shadow, the drop shadow doesn't show up.

I tried this in MCE w/ the nvidia decoder, in zoomplayer with FFDShow and dscaler using VMR9, VMR 7 and overlay. So clearly it's not a decoder issue. I'm thinking it must be in the drivers.

I have it hooked up DVI->HDMI

Anybody know if a praticular driver introduced this problem, or if there is a reg hack to open up the color space?

Ati maps vmr9 levels to pc levels.

16-235 -> 0-255

Only way to solve this is to fallback to Catalyst 6.5 drivers. You could always calibrate your display to overlay, thats what I did because I cant wait for ati to fix their problems with vmr9.
The 7.2 Catalysts are fine with BB and AW.

Is that with MCE or with any operating system? Do you know if that applies to the DVI to component adapter also?
