black display on dvd playback w/ Hd1000 projector

Hi all, I hope this is simple but my searching hasn't found the answer yet. I have a Geforce 7300 video card connected to a crt monitor and a HD1000 projector. When I play a dvd (tried Nero showtime and media player classic) it displays fine on the crt but the movie window on the projector is black. Any ideas?

never mind, I tried another app, ASUS dvd player and it works fine. go figure.
