Black screen MCE 2005

I'm sure this question has been answered before, but I tried searching everywhere and couldn't find the "right" response, even though there's information available.

I just upgraded my HTPC with new components, and MCE 2005.

Motherboard: ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 5000+ [email protected], dual core

Video: XFX 7950GT extreme edition with 512 MB RAM

Sound: Motherboard Toslink.

Everything works fine...EXCEPT, no video..If I try to play a DVD (stored on the hard drive), with either Theatertek, Windows Media Player 11, MCE internal player...etc, I get a black screen (either full screen or a window), but the audio plays normally. I have installed the latest nVidia drivers, done a clean install.

The strange thing is that it was working perfectly well when I was connected to my Dell 21" monitor. When I move the box to the media room..black screen. Both connections are DVI.

Edit: My TV is a Pioneer PRO 530HD which is HDCP compliant for both DVI ports.

Help!

I occassionally have a similar problem when I play DVDs (an actual disk) within Windows Media Center. Audio plays OK but screen is black. I've found that if I minimze Media Center and then restore it, the video will appear and play normally. Alternately I can ALT-TAB to another application and back and this will also fix the video.

Does this workaround work for you?

I don't know how to fix the initial black display but I'd also love to hear a solution.

I think I'm using Intervideo 5.
