I've noticed something on my HX1 when deep blues or blacklights are in the picture. I see this pretty much only on the VOOM Rave channel when they have live bands on with all the stage lights, etc. Anyway, those colors explode off my screen. It looks like someone cranked the blue chroma level and its blooming like crazy. Is this bad encoding on Voom's side, or how the HX1 is handeling the color? Sometimes it looks normal, but with the light shines directly into the camera lens, it really blooms, so over saturated. I guess it can also be how the camera CCD is reacting, but I never remember seeing it look like that way on the plasma. Anyone ever see anything like that?

My guess is that your theory about it being blooming in the camera CCD is correct. It's likely that the dark scene causes the CCD to be read out more slowly and if something bright appears in only a small portion of the frame the readout rate might not change which could cause blooming.

I've seen something like this with other display technologies when I went to Tweeter and they had a HD video feed of a concert (I think it was James Taylor).
