I recently purchased a Motorola DCT700 digital cable box off of eBay. When I power it up (with and without connecting the coax), both the "On" and "Messages" LEDs just blink repeatedly and nothing gets output to the television. I've never seen this behavior before, so I contacted the seller and he sent a replacement that has been working perfectly.
The documentation on Motorola's website makes no mention of blinking LEDs. I have contacted both Motorola and my cable company, but they aren't sure what would cause it.
Is this digital cable box defective, or might there be some way to recover it?
