Blockbuster OnDemand coming to 2009 Samsung TVs:

I just spotted this on Crave. It looks like Samsung is adding blockbuter OnDemand to it's 2009 HDTVs and "home theater products" Personally I wish they were bringing Netflix to the TVs but maybe that will come in time. I can dream any way.

"According to Samsung, the Blockbuster OnDemand feature will be added to "Samsung LCD and Plasma HDTVs Series 650 and above, and Samsung LED HDTVs Series 7000 and above," as well as ""select 2009 Samsung Blu-ray players and home theater systems." We translate that as follows:"

LCD TVs:

LNB650 series

LNB750 series

LCD TVs (LED-backlit):

UNB7000 series

UNB7100 series

UNB8000 series

plasma TVs:

PNB650 series

PNB850 series

PNB860 series

I agree with the author, that while this probably wont catch on as fast as the other renting alternatives, I think thats kindof cool. I still have a blockbuster subscription (damn netflix for taking over the market) and will be curious to learn more about what this service includes/how well it works.

More importantly its nice to see new things being added to the online features. Hopefully they will keep them comming!

Anyone else hear of any new online features in the pipes?

All I can say is Netflix better get there widget out soon, or they will be loosing business. Perhaps this will get them off their asses and into action.
