Does anyone else use this service like NETFLIX? I have been using it for about 2 weeks and love it so far. You get the new release about 2 days after they are released and couldnt be easier to send them back. I think it is great if you rent alot of movies. I would spend around $30 or more renting movies monthly now I pay $15.86 with tax. Give me your opinions on NetFLIX or Blockbuster.

I have been strongly considering the blockbuster version of this rental service and it's good to hear from someone who actually uses it. They are offering a two week trial period and a guarantee that the price will not increase for a year. My monthly expense on movies varies which is why I've never joined one before but at this low price it is worth giving a try.

Plus they also send you a coupon every month for a free rental at your local blockbuster. Have you used that yet and does your local blockbuster accept it?

Thanks for starting this thread....I'll be looking for opinions on this service.
I have to say I'm looking at this also. My local Hollywood Video is TERRIBLE with the puny number of titles they have. Never a recent release when you want one.

How are the on-line services with new releases? Do they have sufficient quantities of a given title?
I've been using BB since it started (actually, I was a beta tester) and couldn't be happier. Of course, some people prefer Netflix due to turnaround times, as it usually depends upon where you live in relation to the distribution center. For me, turnaround wouldn't matter anyway, as I usually ship my movies off on Monday and either service will have your new movies back to you by Friday (some people demand a two day turnaround). To me BB is better because it's cheaper and you get the two free in-store rentals every month as well (even though I hardly ever use them). I've never received a disc that wouldn't play and they've never lost a disc that I returned.

I've used both Netflix and Blockbuster. I started with Netflix and their service was great. A couple months ago, their turn around time started to get slow. It would take a week for them to receive a DVD that I sent in and it would take another week for me to get my new one. I recently switched to Blockbuster because of the low price. They've been great so far and the two free in-store rentals are great. Turn around is just as quick as Netflix was too.
I am a member of both BB online deal and there instore rent all ya want deal. The online thing is OK not thrilled but it is OK. The turn around time is a bit slow but not a real big deal. As far as problems well I have been a member for 2 months now and I have reported two disks as lost but did end up showing up about a week late. However when I did report them as lost BB sent out new copies the next day. I also have received 1 disk that was scratched so bad it would not play and 2 disks that were actually broken. Once again they sent out new disks the next day. So all in all not great but not bad enough to make me cancel just a little irritating sometimes.

My biggest complaint was that free 2 weeks deal well that is what I signed up for and the way I saw it was that since I get to weeks free if I keep the service the first months bill should be about $7.50. Anyway my credit card was billed the full amount aftyer only 2 weeks. So I guess you can quit after 2 weeks and it is free but if you don't your not going to get 2 weeeks or anything for free.

The biggest plus with the online account is they have alot more movies than what they carry in the stores. There are some old movies and some cool car racing and stunt movies that are not carried in the stores. There are even new realeases that the stores don't get for one reason or another that you can get online which is why I have both accounts.

I did the BB 2 free weeks trial back in December. I got 6 movies + 2 in store coupons out of the deal. All mailed disks were in great shape. The turn around for me was quick. A couple of days. The difference I've heard between BB and Net is that Net has a broader selection.
Netflix has a faster turnaround time for us. We tried the BB trial period thing. It was OK, but they need more distribution sites. But honestly, there aren't enough movies that I want to rent to pay that much every month. If I have it, then I want to use it a lot. I had a 30 day BB (2 movie) retal card once. I watched every decent release possible for the year that I hadn't seen already. I ran out of movies I wanted to see.
So New Releases are not significantly back-ordered?
I have used Netflix and currently have Blockbuster. Netflix had a faster turnaround for me, but the 2 free instore rentals a month (no tax, nothin) from Blockbuster that I could use to rent Video Games as well as movies made the difference for me.

Not in my experience. I just looked and SAW, which was just released, is available right now if I wanted it.

If anyone is into anime, there is a net rental service dedicated to anime. I have been using them for about six months. I have never gotton a bad disk. I can't comment on turnaround time because my mailman refuses to pickup my mail unless he has something to deliver. The website is www.rentanime.com .
I have Netflix with a distribution center in my city - that was the main reason for choosing them. They have always been prompt - as a matter of fact, we received word yesterday that they had received our 2 movies we mailed back on Saturday and would be sending out the next two. Not so amazing you say - but yesterday was President's Day and there was NO mail service. The day before was Sunday. So today (Tuesday) I'll be receiving my next 2 movies. Very cool.

The closeset Blockbuster to me is about 50min away. Dont know yet if they accept the coupons, but I work in that area for few weeks every 2 months so I can rent them there as well. The price to rent them there is $4.13 a rental!

At first it would say when I would put the new release in my queue early that it would take very long wait, which was anywhere up too 6weeks. I received the new releases in 2 days after they were released, it says if there is a high demand for the new release they will have alot more copies. You have to put the new releases in your queue early as well, it takes around 3 days for them to get the movie returned to them and around 2 - 3 days for me to get another movie, sometimes 2 at a time. I have to say so far it is great!
