Love the anime version on this so checked it out in NY when I went up to visit my mom an sister.

I don't really do reviews because I'm a poor writer........But:

I liked it. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Worth a disk buy if it's not playing in a theater near ya.

If you enjoyed the anime version you should like this.

Saw it last night (had re-watched the anime a couple days earlier). Same basic story, but expanded to feature length (the anime is only 40 minutes long). I liked the changes: gave more depth to the characters with an origin/backstory and had an endgame/goal for the heroine (rather than keeping her as a demon hunter forever).

I've always liked the anime, but there's only so much you can squeeze into 40 minutes. By comparison, it feels like one episode from Saya's life, while the movie feels like a more complete story. Plus, the swordplay in the movie was lots of fun!

Definite buy for me when it comes out on Blu-ray. Surround effects and bass were great at the theatre I went to. Can't wait to hear it at home. Will make a good companion piece to the anime. (Would be nice if they included the original in hi-def on the BD release.)

Saw this recently, and found it a relatively decent live adaptation of the original anime. The opening sequence on the train is almost a dead-on match with the original, and though the rest of the movie is more of an expansion, it was okay by me. I actually wished it was a little longer, to accommodate more character development.

This might look pretty good in high-def, but they won't be including the original. Manga Ent. handles the original anime, and this film is a Sam Goldwyn/Sony release. (Sony does have the Blood+ TV series, and I'm still waiting for them to put out the second half on disc. Any day now...

If you like the anime, try Blood+, the series.

Regardless of the review, I'll add this one to my queue and re-watch the 4-minute anime.

Please tell me you have stopped paying attention to what "they" say.

You are smarter than that...

That really shocked me.

This makes me doubt if the reviewers are fans of the genre or even understand it.

Ok, it's nobodies summer blockbuster............but 18%??
