all WARNER titles will show up on BD too...
This is why, if you want the option to buy all high def content, you need both formats. I know it's a pain in the a**, and expensive, but it's the only way to cover all bases.

It really is not that expensive either if you are already invested in BD. A Toshiba player can be had for the price of 12 titles or so. And if you have an Xbox 360, half as many (heck, you even get King Kong which you can't get on BD).

Sorry for the biased point of view but couldn't resist :).

You must not be shopping at the right place for movies if they are costing you that much. :)

I agree that it isn't that much more to have both formats for somebody who already has the Samsung though.

Agreed. I've got the A1 and several HD DVDs and BDs already. Now I'm just trying to figure out which BD player is right for me. My wife wanted to watch Stargate tonight and I had to remind her we don't have a player for it yet. ;)

Of course. They look better. Wouldn't you pay more for quality? I know I would.

:D
Not with BRD titles using the same VC-1 encodes. Of course you know that already.
I am waiting which of the above mentioned titles are out on BD till October/November when the first HD-Player comes out in Europe.

If there are a lot titles (Player costs at least 25 titles) I will buy one.

Next year I get a PS3 so then I can play all formats and regions. ;)

Seems like you are not keeping up with insider thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&post8545319

:).

Seriously, the quality ratio of HD DVD is higher than BD for titles published. So what I said jokingly, is really true...

With blu-ray region coding, how do you plan to do this? Or are you counting on a hack to get around it?

I don't know how long it'll take for a region coding hack to be available but I do know that one will come. :) This region coding nonsense is so 90's. Blu-ray should be region free just like HD DVD is. BTW, will HD DVD remain region free?

I already own a region A US BD-Player.

That is true. BUT... as more and more top notch vc-1 titles are released on BRD the smaller that ratio becomes. You'll have many instances of the same movies on both formats in the same quality plus titles exclusive to either format.

So yeah, pick and choose from both formats and you'll be set.
To tell you the truth:

I am missing LOTS of quailty Sony, Fox and Disney titles!

I just wish they hurry up and release some of thier big guns NOW!

If you really would, then I see some BD50s in your future.
