I need to find a blu-ray player that will display close captions for my father who has trouble with his hearing. He bought a new Samsung smart TV & blu-ray player but we found out that Samsung does not support the close caption feature on netflix streaming for either device.


It would also be nice if we could hook up a usb hard drive & be able to access close captions from his existing movie collection ripped into MKV files.


Any suggestions?

Might be better to ask Netflix. They will only enable features like this on specific devices. I'd wager the PS3 might be exclusive at this point.

Panasonic 110/210/310 and Roku 2 definitely have Netflix captions.


1080P Netflix was exclusive to PS3 until Roku 2 was released.
