So I'm torn. I have a beautiful Panasonic 800u that I was using for my main HT TV, and want to get a Plasma to use as a Gaming Only TV. Have been through several models thus far for my Gaming TV (Toshiba Regza 47" LCD, Samsung 50" 560), and couldn't stand LCD, and the Samsung buzzes like a weed whacker.

Therefore, I was thinking about exchanging the Samsung for an upgrade fee to a Panasonic G25, but am scared because it is only a 48 Hz Blu-Ray TV, and have heard about Panasonic's Black Rising issues lately. However, My 800u still looks great, despite the fact that it should have this problem.

My main question is would the G25 be an upgrade over the 800u, or a downgrade? Or, should I wait for the VT25 and use that instead? Or, get the G25 this year, get next year's VT25 model (whatever it will be called), that will hopefully have black issues resolved and incoporate massive Kuro-tech, and give the 800u to my parents as a gift?
