Blu rays plus free worldwide shipping?

499 Views 12 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  AbdullaYusef

Hello

I was wondering if anyone encountered a website that offer a wide range of blu rays and offer a free or low shipping rate fee worldwide. I did a search online and found The Hut and WOWHD, WOWHD doesn't ship to my country and The Hut has a low range of blu rays.

Would appreciate a little help

Thanks

It's going to be tough to find a Blu-ray retailer willing to offer free worldwide shipping these days. International shipping has gotten more and more expensive in recent years.

While not free Amazon UK has reasonable shipping.
The answer is NO. With exchanges rates I have found buying Blu-rays from Amazon.uk, Amazon,fr and Amazon.de very reasonable even when adding in the shipping.

Also, if ordering from outside the UK, the prices at Amazon UK will be lower than what is listed on the web site. Amazon will automatically deduct VAT (which is built into the price) for international orders. You'll see the actual price when you check out.

But many credit cards add an international transaction fee so the price goes up again. They get you coming and going.

In my experience, the international transaction fees are less than the VAT deduction. Your mileage may vary depending on your bank.
When buying from Amazon France, Germany and other countries using an Amazon credit card I have not been charged a transaction fee. The price of the Blu-ray is reduced by the VAT then the shipping is added. I buy mostly older titles not available in America in Blu-ray and in most cases the price with shipping is under $20.00. I own several Region-Free Blu-ray players because most releases are region Locked "B".

As an example I was able to purchased the 4 seasons of The TUDORS in Blu-ray for $69.00 including shipping from Amazon.uk.. $69.00 + 4 = $17.25 per season. Terrific price if you enjoy The TUDORS which I do.

Slight correction: Amazon deducts the UK VAT but if you live in one of the EU countries they apply the tax rate of said customer's country instead. As I live in Sweden I in fact pay slightly more for the same product than a UK customer would as our tax rates are higher by comparison. It's really only those outside of the EU that see any substantial benefit to the VAT deduct.

I didn't realize that. Too bad.
Unfortunately, if i buy more than two items with Amazon uk, I get stuck with 2-4 days shipping which cost a lot!!

Why is that? When I buy from Amazon UK here in the U.S., I get standard shipping which takes about a week, sometimes two, to reach me.

Yeah, if I order one item or two I get to choose standard, otherwise if more, the only option would be 2-4days with Amazon priority program.
