I happened to see a commercial for this prior to the premier and thought I'd give it a whirl so I set my Tivo. The show wasn't bad. I like Tom Selleck and Donny Wahlberg. I'll give it a few more episodes to see what happens. It's not like there's never been a NYC cop show on before.

I thought it was pretty decent. If I had to pick Detroit 1-8-7 or Blue Bloods to watch again, I'd pick Blue Bloods.

Not bad, but I groaned when they trotted out the secret society plot line within the police that got the brother killed.

Really??

I had read that Selleck clashed with the show writers and changes were made. I hope that plot line was something that got killed off.

Not too bad for me either. I'll give it a few more looks before deciding.

I thought it was pretty decent as well, seemed very film-like to me, unlike other shows that you know within a minute that they're TV shows.

Apparently it did pretty well in the ratings.

I thought it was dull and boring. I would much rather watch Magnum PI.

I had mixed feelings about that, too. I can see why they added something like that, but they could have made it something more believable. But they already showed Danny's pin/badge so it appears they're stuck with it.

I caught the second half of Blue Bloods on Friday, & I thought that it was a well-written & well-acted drama. I hope this series does not get canceled.

Watched it yesterday and liked it. They put a lot of stuff in the first hour but I was ok with that because it hooked you into a lot of different story lines. I'm guess they will get the pacing a little slower as the season moves on.

Better than I expected. They handled the Sunday dinner debate well...it was believable, and a good topic for debate.

The graduation scene was superbly staged. Very high production values!

OK I admit I hardly watch any TV outside of football now that LOST, 24 and BSG are history, but I found this to be a show that both my wife and I could watch. Good cast, amusing great grandfather and decent plot line. Only new fall show we're watching.

I know you have to suspend some belief when watching TV, but this was totally ridiculous.

What do you think the NY press would do if the son of the police commissioner was caught beating the crap out or a suspect?

Don't know we haven't gotten to that part yet. Might be addressed tonight

I thought that was all wrapped up. They tied the guy to the kidnapping via the necklace so they didn't have to let him go because of no admissible evidence. Since we've only seen one episode, we don't know how much will be carried from one show to the next. I was assuming just the Blue Templar stuff would be a continual theme (from what we've seen). We'll see...

No i'm thinking based on Danny and his sister's meeting at her office he's still got to get by internal affairs.

now if they drop it completely and don't mention it again then i would be disappointed.

My point is he would be put on administrative leave *immediately*. The NYPD would take him off the streets pending an investigation and there is a good chance the furor in the press would take his father's career down.

I guess you'd have to live around NYC to understand the insanity something like this would cause.

But you guys are right, let's see how this plays out tonight. It is just a TV show, not real life.

Bingo.

Another decent episode. I'm still with it.
