I have a brand new Samsung LN26A330, actually, my second brand new one.

Both sets have blue light coming from around all 4 edges of the screen. It is very noticable when viewing the black input screen, say when your DVD player is off. It is also noticable when watching dark scenes. It is not noticable when the scene is light.

I returned the 1st set, to only find the 2nd set no better.

Is this normal for LCD's? Or am I really that unlucky to have 2 faulty TVs in a row?

Has anyone heard of this blue light problem? Do I need to configure this set a certain way?

Thank you.

Be sure you set it to standard and not dynamic mode. Turn backlight to 5 or 6 and also brightness to 5 or 6. Running any LCD at full out settings will cause some backlight bleed.

If the settings at 5 or 6 seem too dark (tho they should be fine), you can raise them a little but stay away from the highest levels if you can.

Thanks Mes444

I have lowered the backlight, and turned on the energy savings setting, and still the backlight bleeding is quite distracting.

I am going to go have a look at some other models on display and see if I can find one that suites my preference.
