Been away from this forum a couple of years, so excuse me if this has already been addressed.
I currently have older Pioneer Elite receiver (VSX-74TXVi), Pioneer Elite DVD player (DV-79AVi) and Pioneer plasma display (PDP-5060HD). If I replace my DV-79AVi DVD player with a blue-ray player will ther be any noticeable improvement in the picture quality on my Pioneer plasma even though it's best resolution is 1080I?
In other words, if I compare playing a non blue-ray DVD on my current player to playing the same titled blue-ray on a blue-ray player will I see any difference in picture quality to justify purchasing a blue-ray player? Or, would I only see the difference if the blue-ray DVD was viewed on a newer 1080P display?
Thanks, saba97
