Blue Ray Standards

Are there any? If not, I think that all discs should be in HD, have a newer surround sound format, there should be NO MONO soundtracks and ALL discs should have surround sound of some type.

I have read some reviews of movies and HD-DVD has their standars which have allowed for the titles to get near perfect reviews. BR is in limbo. People like BR for it's potential, not it's present. I think that no disc should have video on it that is in SD UNLESS it cannot be converted with any decent quality.

I also think that surround sound is a must! I love Warner Bros. old films from the 1970's, but I always hated the sound. I wish that they and others would remaster the sound so that we get something that separates itself from DVD. I mean, films like Shaft and Superfly are known for their soundtracks, but they are in mono. The least they should have is stereo.

don't know, but that s what I expect from a next-generation format.

Plenty of other threads already discussing these various aspects. Feel free to continue the discussion in one of those.

Thanks
