Got the projector together and find that the blue tube is blooming BADLY. Get up to 50 contrast and I've suddenly got like 10" thick lines on my screen. Doesn't look too bad at 30 contrast, wider than red/green but not too bad.


Any ideas? I've adjusted magnetics for this tube. A quicky 30 minute job, but I hit the stig/flair rings and convergence yoke and deflection yoke. Got the shiny line in the fat line "okay".


900+ hours on the tube, but high chassis hours. No burn at all.

Could be your stig is way out of alignment; you should see dots not lines when aligning flare and stig; reread our Tech Tip 9 again closely.

Well whats odd is that blue looks nice and in focus with focus set at 100 and contrast at 100.


Then turn focus down to 50 and blue looks awful.


Red and Green are the opposite.


Also, when contrast is 100 and focus is 100, blue dots are blobs with a shiny dot in the center. Also, the exact opposite of the way red and green perform.


Blue seems to behave the opposite of how it's supposed to. I'll dive back in and look for a misdone connector or something.


ps. adjusting flair/stig together in a 180 degree turn did not affect the problem.

Hey I got it fixed and just gave it a quicky setup & convergence. HOT DAMN this projector looks GREAT!!!!!

No, really... it's VERY nice. I'm forgetting about fine-tuning. Am watching a movie instead.
