Ok need some real help this time -

Has burn in on the blue tube of my 1031q so I decided to swap it with a spare unit I had (I also swapped the green one).

Things seem to be working fine, convergence is good. I did the "dot" pattern think with the pole magnets and got pretty uniformly round dots although two rows are more egged shaped than the others (like the 4th one down & up from bottom).

I am running 540p out of a crystal image scaler.

Here's the quirk - Just watched Memento on DVD and noticed that in scenes with extreme contrasing areas (white right up against black) a blue smear would appear in the black - this only happend when the black area was to the right of the white area (meaning the smear always went left to right).

This problem did not exist prior to swapping out the tubes and does not happen with the green tube.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Could be a weak tube that you're overdriving. Try putting the old tube bck in and se what happens.

Yes, if the tube is gassy (air has leaked in), it can cause that.
