Howdy,

I was curious what people recommend for bluray playback on a HTPC. I am getting the following bluray drive from newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151222

It sounds like it comes with cyberlink powerdvd software. Is this adequate for basic bluray playback? I don't want to pay more money unless there is a significant upgrade from cyberlink. I've got a Phenom 6 core, 8 gb ram, and win 7 64 bit. I am currenlty able to bit stream HD audio with a radion 5570 card. Will I be able to get the HD audio directly from the disc when not using HPC-HC?

Thanks for you help.

Troy,

Usually bundled software is crippled in some ay. For example, it may only offer 2 channel playback. Hopefully you will get a full version.

I use Arcsoft Totalmedia Theatre 3, primarily because it supports my HD DVD drive. I am also using PowerDVD 11 with some success.

Good luck!
