All 5 rounds will be shown on Golf Channel and VSGLF-HD.

All cameras, including handhelds will be 1080i HD.

AVS member "mtiffee" is the Technical Director and provided the following information.

How about golf in HD from Palm Springs, today on the golf channel HD. 4 Courses, all cameras including 9RF cams in 1080i. Should be windy today.

Watching via Cablevision. Looks good, but not great. However, it's a vast improvement over the SD widescreen GC has given us since the fall.

Tonight's replay is in 4:3. Not sure if there was an issue with the live broadcast today since I didn't record it. Since I seem to only be talking to myself in this thread not sure if anyone noticed or cared.

BTW, the Champions Tour from Hawaii was in SD widescreen.

I watched most of the afternoon yesterday while playing poker online (play money of course). I too thought it was ok but not great. When flipping channels last night i noticed the replay was 4x3 SD. Don't know why.

I guess at lest two of us watched lol.

Don't get The Golf Channel (TGC) in HD here (NYC's TWC), so it's 4X3 480i downconverted from 1080i cameras. As usual, though, that looked superb. Thought TGC HD becomes the former Outdoor Life channel (HD) in the evening. -- John

TGC is now just GC. Golf Channel HD is actually on a channel called Versus / Golf HD. They share the programming time.

On Thursday and Friday Golf Channel programming runs until midnight on VSGLF-HD to show the replay of early round PGA Tour events. All other nights Versus programming start at 7pm.

Are there any cable or satellite providers out there who are offering either a full-time Golf Channel HD or Versus HD? We also get the combined Versus/Golf HD here.
