Hi,

I've narrowed down to 2 choices:

KEF IQ3 or Wharfedale EVO10

Has anyone heard both speakers?

KEFI IQ3 is about $200 cheaper than the EVO10.

Does the aluminum tweeter in the KEF's sound tinny/bright?

I will mainly use for 2 channel stereo and not looking for low bass output.

Looking for that natural vocals and wide sound stage.

thanks

It is not tinny, but it would probably be characterized as bright by most people. This is a characteristic that most of us who use KEFs like about them. The high-end reproduction is crystal clear. As is the midrange, too, for that matter.

I can't make any recommendations, as I have not heard the Wharfedales. I have not heard a Wharfedale speaker in years, actually. My understanding is that they still make some very fine speakers.

Can't say that I've heard the Wharfedale EVO10s, but I think your in the right ballpark with the iQ3s.

I've had a pair for about a month. Really impressed with the sound and imaging. I guess you could consider them on the bright side, but not in a bad way. Bass is nothing to right home about, but I wouldn't say it is lacking. Its also a very good speaker for late night listening. The wife hasn't complained once sine I've had them!!
