Can I place my bookshelves at different levels? Like say, 6-12 inches higher with a distance apart of about 8 feet?

You can do whatever you want with them, but physics will dictate some changes in the sound if they aren't placed on the same level.

What I have done, when forced to place my speakers above ear level, is turn them upside down. It get the tweets more in line of where they want to be.


Works OK when the speakers are symmetrical and the grills can be placed back on and still look the same.(WAF)


I havent noticed any lobing problems.


....hmmmmm....haven't tried them at different heights though; not in 2ch, anyway.

It's not a very good idea. You MIGHT get away with it a little bit with movies since most of the information comes through the center channel. But, for two channel.... it wouldn't sound very good IMHO.
