...and that was the end of my X1 bulb. Sounded like a freakin bottle rocket. Grrrr.

Anyone know a good vendor to get a replacement? Cheaper the better :)

Thanks,

Bout 1000-1100 or so on it.

It was flashed to a 4800. I wonder if that made a difference? I cleaned it every 250-300.

I found another thread that answered my question. I guess I should have searched for my answer first (i think i was in shock).

Sam's online it is.

No. The X1 bulb only carries a 90 day warranty. :(

I just dropped 350 for a new bulb @ Sam's Club. I spent a bit extra for the 3 year warranty. Has anyone ever tried to make a claim on that warranty?

Did you hide under a table when you heard it go BOOM! LOL.

Nice to see you have a good sense of humor. I hate when things die on me :)

Sams warrenty rocks. It just have to be replaced in there 3 year warrety plan. Hey if SAMS wants to pluck out a 3 year warrenty and that you can pop how ever many hours on the bulb. Its no loss to you. How much was the 3 year plan anyways,, like 10 bucks ;)

The 3 year warranty was 40 bucks. They also have a 1 year warranty for $15. I've got my fingers crossed that there wasn't some fine print that I missed. Only time will tell.

No answer yet that I saw. I can't imagine that it would make any difference but it would still be interesting to hear some comparisons on bulb life. Specifically, bulb life for both X1 owners with the x1 firmware and those using the 4800's.

Anyone have some insight?

I've seen lots of people saying they get lamp at sam's too, with warrenty. Don't remember anyone saying sam's went ahead and replaced it. Everyone else was under the assumption they would however. Let us know if they replace it for you. If they did Im off to sam's club. My buld is at 3900hrs

Yeah I am at 3400 hrs, havent been watching the home theater as much recently since I took it out of the main veiwing room (used for literally everything at one point, including computer monitor), and made a seperate theater room.

I plan on doing the Sam's club thing here shortly, as with a 3 year warranty I dont have to worry about waiting till this one burns out. I can just replace it, and use the old bulb as a spare.

BTW what is the life cycle of the 4800 vs x1? X1 was rated for 4000 hours with the latest firmware, never bothered to check if flashing mine to the 4800 set the clock down to less than 4000? Anybody know off hand?
