So i ask you all what would u recommend for around 50 or less per speaker. thanx for your help in advance... oh almost for got

i have a JBL sub 12, onkyo surrounds from a s590 with the center channel (soon to be replaced by a def tech).... i have a def tech sub 1000.... with a onkyo 876 receiver..... the room is 16 by 24 with 3 walls

I would contact Bose. At one time they offered a "trade in" on their older, damaged speakers. The lower cost option would be to re-foam them yourself....eBay. I wouldn't use a different speaker.

+1

Unless you procure the correct driver for the 301s you may not like how they sound.

Re-foaming speakers isn't a huge chore - just takes some patience. While you are doing it be very happy you didn't stumble on a pair of 901s that needed re-foaming!

Do a search on speaker re-foaming and you'll come up with plenty of sites that will show you how its done.

thought about refoaming.... they still have the deal for the trade in but i dont really want to upgrade.... i am not really into bose just wanted to use these for a little while.... bose also does not sell spare drivers which stinks.... well any replacement suggestions please post for me
This re-foam kit will cost you much less than replacing the drivers.

When you go to sell them you'll get much more out of the dollars spent than you will by getting new drivers installed. You might break even going that route.
Refoaming is the way to go. Original from Bose will be too costly....we're talking motors that last a long time. Refoamed my BA 100's and couldn't be happier. Go for it. Even having it done will be cheaper.
