So tomorrow I pick up my Samsung 52" 65F and I just got my Verizon FiOS HDTV box in the mail today so I want to make the right choices before firing this thing up. I've been told not to use the HDMI cable from them so I've been looking at a 3ft 1.3a cable from Monoprice.
I'm guessing there is no HDMI 1.3b yet? Or there is no need for this? This TV is going on a table so I'm guessing 3ft is plenty of length. Irrelevant which HDMI port I put the HDTV in?
Am I going to need a firmware update or only if I run into problems with the HDMI inputs?
As for calibrations I'll search a bit more here unless anyone wants to throw me a bone..
From what I gathered here you need to use an HDMI cable for any DVD player that upconverts to 1080p so I should pick up another HDMI cable, correct? Recommendations for your fav brand of DVD w/ 1080p upconverting?
Will be hooking up the Wii to this as well.
Thanx for you time. Looking forward to this bigtime and I've been here reading a lot trying to catch up on the new tech! I'm a little behind on the LCD learning curve. My wife was hounding me to get one of these for a while now. Can you imagine that?
