Hello, i bought the xfx radeon 5570 and installed it in my pc with the following specs


core 2 duo 2.7ghz

3gb ram

windows 7 ultimate edition

directx 11

sony bravia tv 32 inches

hdmi cable


I dont know what else


The thing is that i cant play .mkv or .mp4 files, hd movies freeze.

i can play avi divx files cool, resolution gets to 1080p according to the tv and image looks fine , better than with rgb/dvi cable


maybe its not powerfull enough for hd movies? i bought it with that purpose in mind

What are you using to play your movies? Windows itself won't play Blu-ray's. Try using a trial of TMT 5 or PowerDvd.

Its powerful enough. You just need to set it up how you want.

hi, i dont have a bluray disc player,i just play mkv and mp4 files,

i tried playing them with vlc


the movies play extremely pixalated stopping every second, bad sound also

Well pos or not I still use it

to watch TV (windowed) via firewire from my TW DCX box, and sometimes use it to record shows while working on the PC like right now as I type this. I use CapDVHS for scheduled recordings when needed but that's about it. As GreenEyez mentioned get MPC-HC and problem solved.
