After many, many calls trying to find Linacoustic or Insulshield I have finally found a dealer in Des Moines, IA. Yahoo! The good news is that they have 8 100' rolls of 1'' Insulshield in stock. The bad news is that they want 411 bones per roll! WTF! I am I wrong or have other people bough it between $125 - $250 a roll?

I have read many post here about locating a dealer but I have never see anyone post anything about online dealers or one willing to ship. Has anyone bought Linacoustic or Insulshield online? Has anyone bought it from an out of state HVAC company willing to ship it? If so please post who they are.

if you have bought Linacoustic or Insulshied how about help me out and posting the name of the company and a phone number. No need to post the price because I will call each and everyone of them looking for a reasonable price. Hell, maybe the 411 is a good price, I don't know.

Maybe it is just the midwebst but I really don't understand why is so hard to find this stuff.

Insulshield is usually more expensive than Linacoustic. Go to the JM website and look up commercial dealers in your area. Don't bother with residential dealers cause all you'll get is Lowes who usually have no clue what you are talking about. Shipping the stuff is not cheap, so you'd be better to find a local dealer or an alternative product. There are many alternatives.

Alredy did that. Called everyone from the JM website they had in my area. The only one that could help me was the one that has Insulshield for $411 a role.

If anyone can please tell me the place and phone number that they got their roll from it would really help. If I can get it for 200 a role and pay 100 shipping I am still saving over 100 if I buy it local.

I found these two from another post and will call them tomorrow. If anyoen has more please post them....

Linacoustic at McCormick's - (703) 551-3239

Roxul at B & J Insulators Of Va - (703) 369-6373

What to expect. Linacoustic 1 inch

Size - a roll is slightly bigger in diameter than a 55 gallon drum and of course 48 inches tall.

Packaging - I think it comes from the factory 4 rolls standing on end, shrink wrapped on a standard forklift wood pallet. (at least that's what I saw stacked three pallets high in the McCormicks warehouse) Each roll is reasonably well packaged in a thick plastic wrapper. Actually better than the shipping wrapper Guiford of Maine used to send me fabric.

So if you can find someone willing to stick a label on it and the right freight company willing to take something of that size it might work.

When you call McCormicks the dude working the warehouse refers to it as the 1 inch Duct liner (it's the Linacoustic RC). He is a gear head and has a picture of a souped up chevy supersport above his monitor. IN the picture the front wheels are airborne. He used to drag race it but recently sold it. They do take credit cards but he had to call in the number to his home office and they faxed back a receipt.

Use Linacoustic instead of Insulshield. Insulshield costs $400. Permacote Linacoustic costs about $150. Linacoustic RC is even cheaper. The rolls are about 2 feet in diameter and 4 feet long.

There are 20 alternatives to Insulshield. Try Bob's awsome website and find something similar for much cheaper. Just tell the dealers you are looking for a 1" duct liner and ask them what they carry.

edmove,

I live in Des Moines and you can't get Linacoustic or IS around here. What you will probably want to go with is OC 703 for your walls. Get the 1" stuff and it is basically the same as Linacoustic and IS. It comes in 2x4 foot panels also.

I got my 703 from a company in Ankeny(north of Des Moines) call L&L Insulation & Supply Company. Prices were great by the way. For about 100 feet of 703, you are going to pay around 200.00. The good thing is, if you don't need 100', you don't have to since it is bout in 2' panels.

It has worked great for me so far.

Ron, can I use OC 703 on my stage area with the same results as Insulshield/linacoustic? I don't think I have seen anyone use 703 on the front stage area in any photos before.

Thanks,
